Robert Combas

Very charismatic and creative contemporary artist born May 25, 1957 in Lyon, who has a gift for cartoons and caricatures, he is a founder of the Free Figuration with Hervé Di Rosa, which began in 1979 with the magazine Bato. The accuracy is known, except that he would specify how this representation is free and what kind of representation it could be.

In the mid 70s, Combas wrote the series "Battles". A topic that has inspired many to paint his works.

This artist has been much influenced by what surrounds him daily in his adult life as television, rock, comics and sex.

In 1979, Combas graduated from the School of Fine Arts in Saint Etienne.

Combas is today is one of the symbols of French contemporary art. A large retrospective in Lyon which took place in 2012 at the MAC had a strong interest among fans and collectors of art.
