Artwork's description
Jesus Raphael Sotto is one of the pioneers of kinetic art.
In 1972, Soto created this work using monochrome and striated panels on which he placed metal rods, suspended from nylon threads. These oscillating rods cause a spatial and perceptual tension. The displacement of the spectator and the instability of the installation creates optical vibrations.
Soto, maintains through this work the question of what is real and what is imaginary.
