Artwork's description
In the early 1990s, Francois-Xavier Lalanne created a series of "Échassier" lamps published by the auction house Artcurial. The lamp is made of bronze, copper sheet and opaline. The casting was done by Figini.
For François-Xavier Lalanne, there is no border between sculpture and furniture. Throughout his career he has incorporated animals into the furniture he designs. His works plunge us into a fantastic universe, an enchanted land.
"Art is like life: it shouldn't be so serious."
